Artist's Comments
This bad boy has been done for a while, but I just now decided to upload him here. Yep, it's another design for Dragoncave. Hopefully during this summer, I will be producing some EPIC- and I mean srsly bsns epic- dagrons for the site. I've got plans this summer, and if it all goes well you will see more art from me than in any three-month stretch previously.
Anyway, this guy was tricky- the chest, head and front legs came first, then the wings and tail- the back legs were hard, and I think they still look sort of weird. Maybe I'll come back and fix them later, but right now it's pretty good. Yeah, it is based off that sketch I submitted earlier. Like all sprites for DC, this is under a size and color constraint; -no dimensions over 120 pixels. -no more than 16 colors. I still went over the file size a bit by "filling up my canvas" (My style does that a lot) but hopefully I can work that out over time. Thanks for stopping bye! |

He looks so itty-bitty up there, though! XD I forget just how small DC sprites really are. I was spoiled when I worked on the ascended stuff.
Would you believe games taught me how to sprite? X3. I learned initially from Seikendensetsu 3, and worked my way up from there. (It is seriously the most beautiful SNES game evah.)

Do you mind if I sit him beside a sprite I'm working on so that I can see how you've done the feathered wings please? I'm not going take anything from him, I just want to use him as a reference for the wings as I've still got lot to learn.
